I think that everyone is nervous about contact lenses at the beginning, but you soon get very used to them. I don’t mind the surgery but there is a lot of info on wikipedia about the side-effects that scares me a little.

I wouldn’t have one, but then again, I have an intense fobia for all things ocular. I can’t even put on contact lenses, and even eyedrops make me a bit nervous. I hear the risks have gone down significantly.

(Insert here some insulting joke about African witch doctors and their “lasers”)

Wow, what a route! I wish I could participate, the scenery must be amazing! And the 3-hour cut off is generous enough for walking (fast). Hope to get to see the photos (in about three weeks time, wheeeeeeeeee!)

I _LOVE_ it! In fact, unlike before, I really look forward and think about it during the day. The first few steps are terrible, but once I get tired enough and I start feeling my muscles working it is great. The best part, however, is getting home and just lying on the ground, resting. Sometimes I have enough energy to get some juice, or if I have feel that I have done particularly well, a beer. And then it is time to water the back garden and shower and then pretend to go to bed. But tonight I have to finish examining a thesis.

Hm, IMHO the single sessions should be mainly fun, neither too easy, nor too hard, otherwise it becomes quite difficult to keep the whole thing up. Do you enjoy them at all?

Oh, that’s just too bad, that is my “off week”, so I will be in the UK only for monday and tuesday. Were it another week, I’d take a train to France; i’ve always wanted to use that tunnel… Well, as you say in ZA, c’est la vie.
