In the depths I perceive a phenomenon I have encountered in my own teaching. Namely, the people who come to me for knowledge and skills and the people who come to me for guidance. The former must be trained, but the latter learn.

This makes me think of something like Zen and the art of computer science. The AI-people already have their set of koans. Perhaps these should be more widely adopted.
