My Antony is away

For the last week I have been sleeping — trying hard to sleep — at least eight hours every night. Sometimes, like yesterday, I also take a nap when I get home. I’m not exactly sure how other people manage it, but I’m exhausted after driving in the traffic. The concentration is intense. And that sudden relief of being able to relax just drives me into bed! I suppose that if there are kids around that need to be fed, or dogs that need walking, or a gym date or some such, you can keep on going. Strangely, I still feel tired in the mornings, even though I think I sleep soundly. Hmm. Another strange side-effect of the increase in sleep (and, by the way, more regular sleep) is that I tend to urinate a lot more! I’m not sure if this is connected or not, but…

I don’t mind the sleeping, but it doesn’t seem to improve my life much. The lack of internet is more of a driving force that prevents me from working at home. (Which I regard as a good thing.) As far as I’m aware, more sleep has actually been detrimental to my health. I have, namely, sustained a sleeping injury. I don’t recall if I had a neck cramp (just like a leg cramp, but in my neck), or if I simply slept with my head turned the wrong way, but one of my neck muscles is really hurting! :) Non-occupational hazard I guess. There is a remote possibility that it is in fact a tooth that is causing some phantom pain down my neck, but I’m a little skeptical about this possibility. In any case, I need to go to the dentist anyhow, so I’ll have her check it out. [And the reason I don't recall the cramp is that they frequently happen when I'm asleep. Not sure how often, but from time to time they wake me up.]
