I’m trying to think what I did this weekend, and the answer turns out to be: very little. But that is OK. Not every weekend has to end in a spectacular result. I suppose I’m a little disappointed because I had great plans. I’m a little worried because my brain was apparently broken on Friday: I forgot some important documentation at the office and so some of the work I had planned for the weekend has to wait until tomorrow. But still, I was really looking forward to it. Ugh, I need a social life. We’ll see what we can do about that this week.
Tomorrow is a research-grant-proposal-writing workshop. I’ve been trying to feel positive about it, but I suspect that I will learn some utterly idiotic skills like knowing the difference between an “aim” and an “objective”. Still, if the people with the money want me to jump through those hoops… I work in a circus after all. I’m kind of itching to get started on my preparation for the second semester, but there is still a couple of BIG THINGS to accomplish before then. Tomorrow we (might) hear about the fate of our latest paper, and one of the BIG THINGS might include a conference visit. There will definitely be one in July, possibly two, but there’re local, so that means much less time spent travelling.
