Lapse

No posting yesterday.  Broke my perfect attendance record. The reason is clear: a break in my routine. I was working through the night towards a strict 10am deadline. Lots of pressure and I didn’t take my scheduled breaks. Oh well, I need to reestablish the pattern.

I also wasn’t exercising according to my schedule, but there was another disruption behind that. After working all night, I ended my “run” of wakefulness by coming to Kleinmond to be with my parents on this special day.  See, it is exactly 30 years today since Three Mile Island. Obviously Kleinmond is not good for my routines. That is battle I must fight in the next couple of months.

Tomorrow will be just as hectic. My parents want to go to a restaurant and there is also more work to do. I’m not even considering my usual work. That must magically be accomplish during Sunday night. Tuesday I’m presenting at a workshop and I have not even started on the slides, although I have been giving it some thought.

Something else I have been thinking about is how this blog (I prefer to think of it as something else, but I’m not sure what…it is not a journal…more like a column) has mutated from describing my daily activities to my family (never really happened) to a venue for my to express my thoughts to myself. Perhaps I have been playing to my audience a little too much.  I might return a little to my plan of documentating my more mundane day-to-day life. I do not want the archeologists of the future to get the wrong idea. Assuming my blog even get fosilised in the first place.
